To mark Mahmoud Dowlatabadi’s 85th birthday, Alef, in collaboration with Garnet, hosted a special event honoring one of the most influential figures in contemporary Iranian literature.
The ceremony was held on August 4, 2025, at Ein al-Dowleh Mansion and brought together a number of prominent writers, artists, and cultural figures. It offered an opportunity to reflect on the literary journey of an author whose work has, for decades, explored the lives, memories, culture, and social experiences of the Iranian people.
Pakshoma, as a member of the Alef family, also took part in the event. Participation in cultural gatherings like this reflects a broader view of the relationship between everyday life, home, culture, and awareness, extending beyond a single occasion or corporate program.
For Alef, honoring Mahmoud Dowlatabadi was also an opportunity to recognize the role of literature in preserving collective memory and passing shared experiences from one generation to the next.
